As it was a solo game I issued advance orders that the main force would follow the main road across the bridge and the follow on brigades use the ford, just to see how it went. Your idea is much better of course, although if you push north from the ford you are heading straight for the main strength of the Austrians.

The map is great, isn't it? There were a couple of Scruby's maps featured in the now defunct Classic Wargamer's Journal, which were almost equally nice. I find a well drawn map very inspiring.Keith Flinthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12903769462646267048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1430463007570237159.post-80831292198373869832012-01-31T16:27:34.838+00:002012-01-31T16:27:34.838+00:00Nice looking game Keith. If it has been me I'd have piled across there and then turned east if I wanted the bridge, or just headed north if I didn't.... the way the scenario map is laid out the approach road is presumably designed to allow the Austrians time to activate - may be your Austrian response was "too quick"???? So make the Austrian response slower??? Good report though.. love that map... :o)Steve-the-Wargamerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07077311120172727690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1430463007570237159.post-13410760729686044082012-01-31T06:20:39.150+00:002012-01-31T06:20:39.150+00:00Great looking game and great fun had I feel...Great looking game and great fun had I feel...tradgardmastarehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13116967655904601740noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1430463007570237159.post-89028567760196439042012-01-31T03:37:01.071+00:002012-01-31T03:37:01.071+00:00Looks like a brisk action . . . and I think that y...Looks like a brisk action . . . and I think that you are correct in terms of adjusting the terrain.

I look forward to the replay.

-- JeffBluebear Jeffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05171345165563779232noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1430463007570237159.post-41785018089471130892012-01-30T23:47:18.228+00:002012-01-30T23:47:18.228+00:00Excellent looking game and nice report!Excellent looking game and nice report!Fitz-Badgerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15510866929782142007noreply@blogger.com
